Sunny Beach is by popular acclaim the best Bulgarian seaside resort. It has been the jewel of the Bulgarian Black Sea coast for more than 59 years now. Sunny Beach has gone through many changes and yet it still retains that "Sunnybeachness" which is difficult to describe but not that difficult to sense. Here, for the benefit of the younger visitors to our site, we will provide a short history of the place. This is what started happening here more than 59 years ago.
Tryavna is located in Central Bulgaria, about 250 km away from both Sofia and Varna, and at 440 m above mean sea level. The town lies at the foot of the northern slopes of Stara planina (Old Mountain, the Balkan). The population of Tryavna is approximately 10 000 people.
Pomorie is located in the southern part of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, 22 km away from Burgas and approximately 400 km away from Sofia. The population of the town is around 14 000 people. E87 main road connecting the northern and the southern parts of the Black Sea Coast passes through Pomorie. Varna, Burgas, Sozopol, and Nesebar can be reached via Pomorie Port. The town lies in close proximity to the international airport of Burgas.
